Moris, the Necrolord

After so many years of being frozen Moris barely resembles a human. His skin is pale gray and his body broken in many places, with most of it still covered by his blue robes. Moris is, by the biological definition - dead. However, with the power of Finished Blessing of the Undeath he has full control over his body feels no pain nor cold. He doesn't have to eat and drink but still can do so if he wants too. His body doesn't require sleep but his mind still does, and he spends most of the time just sleeping in his old laboratory in Nekaru.

Story

Villains only exist in tales. In real world there are only people with problems who struggle to solve them and 2000 years ago Elder Research Leader of Nekaru Laboratories, Royal Alchemist, Archcryomancer Moris ver Torfs was just one of those people. He had loving family, friends, money and fame, he had power that many could only dream of. His life was almost perfect, flawed by one fear we all keep deep in our hearts. Fear of death.

Moris' first experiences with death happened when he was only 7 his beloved grandpa died. Later, when he was 12 his dog also passed on. When Moris was 34 he lost his mother and at age of 67 he cried over the grave of his wife. Since the beginning of his life he was losing his loved ones just like everyone else, but with all of his power and knowledge he tried to change it, the fundamental law of the world. Moris crossed the path no other mage ever dared and began to study the nature of death itself. He wanted to free humanity from mortality he saw as curse once for all, so nobody else would suffer loss of loved ones. Years passed with his research leading him to servant of death itself who showed him morbid truth about death, eternal cycle of beginning and end. Moris was the first mortal who learned what really happens after death and this horrific revelation changed him.

From now on old cryomancer vowed to do everything to prevent humans from dying. He sacrificed all he had, all of his fortune, all of his attention, all of his remaining time. He dig into the forbidden primal magic used to kill eternal ones, and broke every law that existed at the time. Years passed and finally 109 years old Moris ver Torfs created a spell that achieved the impossible - spell that could prevent soul from leaving the body, which even the gray man could not break. Yet, the spell was never finished. The soul would stay in the body, but if the body died soul would lose control and fall into endless coma. Mindless immortal corpses driven only by hunger were surprising, but interesting side effect. After all, they were immortal. Moris just needed just few more years to make his opus magnum perfect, yet he never chad a chance to do so.

One of his test subjects escaped and began to spread unfinished cure for mortality, turning humans into immortal bloodthirsty monsters. Moris couldn't even explain his great plan to when guards of Nekaru came to his lab with order to execute him for all the crimes he commited. He managed to freeze his opponents in the last moment, but stilly lost both of his arms. The world was burning, his unfinished solution for human death caused apocalypse and he was dying in lake of his own blood. With his last breath Moris froze his body in old wardrobe and patiently waited in this icy tomb. While his body was unable to move and act at its own his soul and incredible willpower survived. It took centuries, but Moris finally took over his unfinished cure, over his own dead body. He rose up from his tomb. And laughed. After all these years he won his battle against the world. Moris ver Torfs was immortal.

Sadly before would-be savior mastered his own medicine... the world was changed forever. 2000 years later when humans started to rebuilding not many known about the origin of their bane, now called The Curse of Undead. There are many legends and theories why Moris did what he did, with some calling him a madman, other a terrorist. All people of Greavesoyl collectively hate the man who once tried to cheat death, now only remember him as Forever Damned, Greatest War Criminal, Father of The Curse... The Necrolord.
